at Fullerton Union High School

A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Fall 2025

Fullerton Theatre prides itself on delivering a first-rate Theatre Arts education to each and every student. Our courses are supported by extra-curricular and co-curricular opportunities in the Arts. Students have a chance to not only learn in the classroom but to apply their learned skills in a performance setting.

THEATRE 1

Theatre 1 is an introductory-level course. Students have the opportunity to learn essential acting skills in pantomime, improvisation, solo and duet performance, and foundational technical theatre design. This course focuses on the importance of building community, overcoming performance fears, following instincts, and collaboration.

THEATRE 2/3/4

Theatre 2/3/4 is an advanced-level course. Students have the opportunity to produce second-stage theatre productions and prepare performance pieces for competition at the local, state, and national level. This course is for students who, after completing Theatre 1, want to focus on expanding their knowledge and experience in acting, directing, and/or design.

TECH THEATRE

Technical Theatre is a course that focuses on the non-performance aspects of theatre. Students gain an understanding of the elements of theatre design and production with focus on collaboration, problem solving, creative expression, color theory, mathematical concepts, and more. Technical theatre students design sets, lighting, costumes, hair and makeup, props, audio, and marketing strategies for Fullerton Theatre’s mainstage and second-stage productions, receiving practical instruction and hands-on opportunities to apply their learned skills. Introductory- and advanced-level courses available.

IB THEATRE

IB Theatre is a course for students who are interested in the theories of acting, directing, and design. This advanced-level course is focused on investigating world theatre traditions, impactful theatre theorists, collaboration and devised theatre, and production design from a director’s perspective. This course is offered at two levels, SL for one-year students and HL for two-year students.
