The International Thespian Society (ITS) is the Educational Theatre Association’s student honorary organization and is the only nationally recognized honor society for theatre students. 

ITS recognizes the achievements of high school and middle school theatre students. Since 1929, EdTA has inducted more than 2 million Thespians into ITS. That number continues to grow, with more than 36,000 students from around the country being inducted each year.

Students earn an invitation to be inducted into the Thespian Society by earning Thespian points for work done in support of or in service to their Thespian Troupe.

Thespians at FUHS enjoy a variety of benefits with their membership, including:

• An invitation to attend the California State Thespian Conference in March, with the the opportunity to compete for a State title in performance or technical theatre.

• The opportunity to compete for a National title and audition for top colleges at the International Thespian Festival at Indiana University, Bloomington in June following junior year. 

• Induction into an exclusive Honor Society, which can be included on college applications.

• The ability to Letter in Theatre when classified as an Honor Thespian (earning 60 Thespian points).
